In early November, UMBC celebrates National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) with a series of lunchtime conversations. Our theme, Life in a Hybrid World - Learning How to Flex, celebrates all the successes and challenges our campus community has experienced as we continue to adapt, teach, and learn together during the pandemic.

What We've Learned and How We're Moving Forward

Join us on Monday, November 8th from 12 PM-1 PM for a lunchtime panel discussion with three faculty as they speak about their experiences adapting to online and hybrid instruction, the courses they developed, and the future of these teaching modalities at UMBC. 

Our guests include:

• Dr. Sarah Bass is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UMBC. Sarah primarily teaches CHEM 101 and 102, as well as some advanced laboratory classes. 

• Dr. Louise Murray is the Director of Undergraduate Programs and Clinical Associate Professor in the Erickson School of Aging Studies. She has an EdD in Educational Leadership and a MA in Gerontology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Louise has a specific interest in online teaching and learning and is a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer.

• Mr. Gary Williams is a Senior Lecturer with the Emergency Health Services Department and the Clinical Coordinator with the Paramedic Concentration. Gary teaches several online courses and is currently developing a new concentration within the Emergency Health Services Department that will be completely online.
