Description

UMBC's Instructional Technology staff interviews colleagues to talk about all things instructional technology and Going Online. Our guests bring their insight and experiences to the table, followed by a Q&A session from our audience.

Join us Friday, April 8th 11:00AM - Noon to celebrate faculty who’ve recently participated in Instructional Technology’s Quality Matters Impact (QMI) Program, a new initiative to formally recognize courses that meet Quality Matters standards and demonstrate exemplary online/hybrid course design.

If you missed our GO Chat QMI episode from February (you can watch/listen to our episode here).

During April's GO Chat, our faculty guests will share their experiences in the Quality Matters Impact program including completing the DoIT-facilitated Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Workshop (APPQMR) and submitting their course for an official subscriber-managed Quality Matters review. Faculty will briefly showcase their recently-certified QM course and offer tips and suggestions for getting started no matter where you are in the process of improving your course design.

April’s QMI Success Stories will focus on instructional materials, learning activities, and tools to support engagement and active learning (Quality Matters Higher Education Rubric 6th Ed.; General Standards 4, 5, and 6).

This casual GO Chat conversation welcomes all faculty, teaching assistants, staff, or graduate students who are learning about online teaching, instructional design, and those who may be curious about Quality Matters, including faculty who are ready and interested in participating in the Quality Matters Impact Program at UMBC. Bring your lunch or a cup of coffee!
